medium conviction growthLow-code and no-code platforms
Low-code/no-code is being reframed by enterprise hyperscalers as the agent-builder layer rather than the visual app builder, and Microsoft Power Platform is the lead beneficiary of that reframe through 2027.

The thesis
Microsoft Power Platform + Salesforce + ServiceNow capture the AI-agent + low-code convergence
Microsoft Power Platform + Copilot Studio (computer-using agents GA May 2026) + Power Apps + Power Automate integrate generative AI inside governed enterprise environments with Entra ID + DLP + compliance. Salesforce Agentforce 360 (GA Feb 2026) on Data Cloud enables agent-driven workflows on top of CRM data. ServiceNow Now Assist embeds AI across the Now Platform. Enterprise procurement defaults to these integrated platforms rather than pure-play AI agents + pure-play no-code stacks.
Open-source workflow automation (n8n, Activepieces, Windmill) caps cloud no-code pricing
n8n passed 150,000 GitHub stars (Oct 2025); Activepieces and Windmill are increasingly enterprise-deployable. Self-hostable + LLM-native + competes with Zapier + Make on connector breadth. Caps cloud workflow-automation pricing power at the long-tail tier.
State of the art (2026)
By mid-2026 the category has been quietly renamed. Microsoft made computer-using agents in Copilot Studio generally available on 13 May 2026 and now markets it as a governed enterprise agent platform rather than a low-code chatbot designer, with agent-to-agent orchestration shipped alongside. Salesforce shipped Agentforce 360 to general availability on 23 February 2026; its Agentforce plus Data Cloud ARR reached roughly 2.9bn dollars in Q4 FY26. ServiceNow Now Assist ACV sits near 750m dollars and management has lifted its target to 1.5bn. Below the incumbents, AI-native builders - Lovable (circa 400m dollars ARR), Replit and Vercel v0 - are eating the citizen-developer end. Visual no-code is becoming the secondary build-mode; natural-language agent construction is the primary one.
AI agents disrupt SMB no-code positioning but expand the market
Anthropic Computer Use, OpenAI Operator, Cognition Devin, Vercel v0, Replit Agent commoditise simple 'build me an app' or 'automate this workflow' tasks. SMB no-code tools (Airtable, Notion, Zapier, Bubble, Glide, Retool) absorb AI-agent capabilities to stay competitive. Net effect: market expands but per-vendor unit economics may compress as the differentiator shifts from visual-tools to enterprise integration + governance.
